CastCE MIPS - Atari ST Emulator for MIPS

Compiling this for MIPS, why?

As you could see by the looks of this site I am a fan of Sierra adventure games. I love to play them on my pda, which is the excellent Casio E-125 overclocked to 200Mhz with this guide.

I used Pocket Sarien for playing the AGI games, and could not find a way to play SCI games, because no one yet has ported freeSCI emulator to Pocket PC. In my wonderings on how to play Space Quest 3 on my Casio, I remembered it being released for other systems as well. I checked, and saw it was released for Atari ST. However, I couldn't find an emulator for it that runs on MIPS devices.

So I took the source code of CastCE and made it run on my casio. I sent this mips version to Ludovic (who did a great work porting it to PocketPC in the first place!) and from his reaction ("thanks a lot, because many Mips owners will can play to what they requested for some month ;-)") I thought he'd put it up for download or include it in his new versions. I myself have not found it yet anywhere so I thought I'd put it up myself. So it's not on the appropriate site, but who cares, as long as it's available to the public, right? ;-)

The result

Well, the result is I can now play Space Quest 3 while on the road. And Police Quest 2, Larry 2 and 3, etc etc. By the way, you can also play the VGA remakes of these adventure games on PocketDOS, it just won't run the gfx mode of ega SCI games, therefore you need CastCE.

The download

Both source and binaries can be downloaded here.

Have fun with it!
